Have a go at Making a Clay Oven
22-23 May 2013
£80 for two day workshop
Expert clay oven maker Bob Wood will be leading this 2 day practical workshop to learn how to make a clay oven. The use of clay ovens is becoming increasingly popular as a green approach to outdoor cooking. The oven will be built out of materials sourced locally such as clay and straw, and once built it will be fired by timber from the Springvale site.
Most activities at Springvale involve getting your hands dirty… this workshop will involve getting your feet dirty!
Places are limited. For further information and to book a place please contact Project Manager Nicola Billups at nicola@penistonepartnership.org.uk
We have some other exciting courses and talks under development relating to food growing and environmental skills so keep an eye on this page if you are interested.
Courses on the following themes are on the way…
Dry Stone Walling for beginners
Food growing at home – a talk by local Garden Designer Sally Cunis
We are also organising some free in-house courses and trips but only for regular volunteers. Surely a reason to get involved!
